Jazz Alchemy
Jazz Alchemy is a collective of musicians, arrangers and composers brought together to create projects that change from one release to the next, while preserving a clear artistic identity: the ongoing exploration of jazz and its many forms.
The group made its debut in 2014 with two Christmas albums led by pianist and composer Elio Baldi Cantù, whose artistic direction shaped the project’s early sound through elegant atmospheres and classic jazz arrangements.

After this initial phase, Jazz Alchemy naturally evolved into a flexible ensemble with a rotating lineup, without a fixed leader and capable of adapting to the needs and style of each project. The collective became a creative laboratory where different musicians collaborate to craft new musical alchemies.

In 2025, Jazz Alchemy opened a new artistic chapter.
In June, the group released Distant Ember, an album rooted in contemporary jazz with strong Metheny-inspired colours, combining lyrical melodies, introspective moods and modern improvisation.
Later in 2025, for the Christmas season, Jazz Alchemy launched Christmas in Full Swing, a project recorded with a big band assembled specifically for the occasion and inspired by the vibrant swing sound of the great American orchestras.

Jazz Alchemy is a constantly evolving project, capable of moving from classic jazz to contemporary fusion, from big band orchestrations to thematic and seasonal works.
Every release is born from the meeting of different musicians who share the desire to reinterpret jazz language with freedom, taste and imagination.

Its philosophy is simple:
to blend, explore and shape new combinations — just like true alchemists of jazz.
